About WickRead

The WickRead deskUpdated 2026-07

Let's get the most important thing out of the way first: WickRead is an independent teaching site about reading charts, and it has no affiliation, partnership or official relationship with Binance. We are not Binance, not a Binance sub-site, and we do not speak for it. If you are looking for the official Binance, go straight to the Binance website or its official app — this site can't help with that.

Who we are

Behind WickRead is a very small writing team that goes by "the WickRead desk." Let's be honest about one thing up front: "the WickRead desk" is a pen name, not the real name of any one specific person. We won't dress ourselves up with degrees, licences, institutional titles or trading track records — because we don't have those to show, and we're not going to invent them. Judge whether we're worth reading by whether the writing is correct and clear, not by an author's job title.

We built this site because there is always someone who opens a Binance chart for the first time and freezes: a screen full of red and green bars, thin lines poking everywhere, and no idea what any of it means. Most of what's out there is either written for professionals or is just someone shouting calls. What we wanted to do is explain "reading a single candle, reading a whole chart" in plain language, for a complete beginner.

What we do — and don't do

What we do is beginner teaching about candlesticks and chart reading: how to read one candle, how bullish and bearish differ, what a wick is telling you, how to pick a timeframe, how to find support and resistance, and which chart situations are easy to misread. We build a few hands-on tools to practise with alongside the articles.

Just as important is what we don't do, with no exceptions:

  • No investment advice. We explain how to understand a chart, not whether you should buy, what to buy, or at what price.
  • No buy or sell signals. You will never see "enter now" or "this coin is going up" here.
  • No managing anyone's money. We never touch anyone's account, place anyone's orders, or manage anyone's funds.
  • No coin picks. When a coin is mentioned on the site, it's only to illustrate a chart — never a recommendation to go buy it.

Put plainly: reading a chart is a tool for understanding the present, not a crystal ball for predicting the future. Anyone who turns a chart pattern into "guaranteed up" or "guaranteed down" is someone we disagree with — and someone you shouldn't believe.

How we make the content

Before writing each piece, we try to stick to a few plain principles:

  • Check against official rules and public charts. When it comes to specific Binance settings (default colours, timeframe options, where things sit in the interface), we go by Binance's official pages and by charts anyone can see — we don't write from memory.
  • Patterns describe tendencies, not promises. Technical analysis is about probability at heart. A long wick, rising volume, a pin bar — these only point to a tendency, so we say "often means," never "will always."
  • When we're wrong, we fix it. If a piece is wrong we don't hide it; we log it openly. You can see what we've changed on the corrections page.

Fact-checking and corrections

Our checking method isn't complicated or mysterious: we confirm numbers, terms and interface descriptions line by line against Binance's official notes and the real charts you can see right now. Where we're unsure, we'd rather write "check Binance's own page" than invent a definite claim.

But we can't be error-free. If you spot a sentence that's wrong, out of date, or easy for a beginner to misread, please write and tell us: [email protected]. If it checks out, we'll fix it and note on the corrections page what changed and when.

Our line on credibility

Some sites fake a pile of social accounts and pretend they've been covered by this or that outlet, just to look bigger. We don't do that. We do not fabricate social accounts, and we do not invent any media endorsement or institutional partnership. If you ever see content flying the "WickRead" name elsewhere while claiming official licences or authoritative backing, that isn't us — treat this site and the address [email protected] as the source of truth.

That's it. What WickRead can give you is a plain-spoken introduction to reading charts, and an attitude that doesn't cut corners. Reading charts isn't hard; the hard part is not rushing — one candle at a time.

WickRead is an independent chart-reading site, not Binance official. Content is educational only and is not investment advice or a buy/sell signal. Crypto is volatile and trading is risky — decide for yourself and check the rules where you live. Spotted an error? See the corrections page.
